FROM A REMOTE CONTROL: THE LEARNINGS OF LIFE

I'm constantly covered with plastic, 

so even though I look for a place to breathe, 

I always wind up gasping for air.

 The day you swap the old cover for the new one is 

when I get my life back for a time.

 You make sure I'm completely charged and functional, 

but when I become sick (weak batteries),

 You strike me hard and get upset with me because 

I won't turn on the TV. 

You push my buttons hard to switch the channels, 

 but you never care how much it hurts me. 

You lose me, and when you can't locate me,

 you chastise me like I'm trying to hide from you

You know I can take control of my things even from a remote place,

 but you can't since your mind takes control of you constantly.
